OhHeckYeah: An Immersive Street Arcade

Brian Corrigan

Funding Received: 2013
Denver, CO
$200,000
Funding Period: 1 year and 5 months

In 2014, OhHeckYeah transformed the Denver Theatre District into a first-of-its-kind immersive street arcade in partnership with the Downtown Denver Partnership, Denver Theatre District, Colorado Symphony, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Bovine Metropolis Theater, Mode Set, Legwork Studio and Denver Arts and Venues.

OhHeckYeah is a public benefit corporation that uses the power of play to strengthen the social, physical and economic fabric of place. Studies continually show that play of any kind makes us more creative, curious and happy. It even contributes to helping build trust between strangers. Play is a powerful way to create human connection; a need that is even more fundamental and basic than food or shelter. Our mission is to integrate play into the built environment to produce communities that are more connected, creative and vibrant. We believe the City that plays together, stays together.
