POLICYLINK'S CREATING CHANGE THROUGH ARTS
Arts and culture are essential for building community, supporting development, nurturing health and well-being, and contributing to economic opportunity. This report highlights both promising and proven practices that demonstrate equity-focused arts and culture policies, strategies, and tools. The report describes the role of arts and culture across the nine sectors. Within each policy chart there are goals, policies, and implementation strategies that can help achieve communities of opportunity.

Our 2018 Annual ArtPlace Summit in Louisville, KY, gathered our community of colleagues from the field of creative placemaking – projects and organizations we have been able to support, our foundation and government partners, and the researchers, advisors, and colleagues who help shape our work. With Louisville as our cultural backdrop we heard from national and local leaders on some of the most pressing issues facing our field and our communities. 2017 ANNUAL ARTPLACE SUMMIT VIDEO ARCHIVE
In 2017 we gathered our community of colleagues working on creative placemaking for our Annual ArtPlace Summit. The Summit took place in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest gave us a beautiful backdrop to hear from national and local leaders on some of the most pressing issues facing our communities, including immigration, housing, environment, and the rural urban cultural divide. Knight Soul of the Community

KNIGHT SOUL OF THE COMMUNITY
A 3-year study conducted by Gallup that determined that social offerings, openness, and aesthetics were three of the most important factors that drive community attachment. These factors provided new ways cities could build community engagement, thereby increasing attachment to place, and strengthening communities. 

Irrigate Toolkit

IRRIGATE TOOLKIT
The Irrigate toolkit stemmed from the Irrigate project, which leveraged the arts to offset the disruption caused by construction of a new rail line in St.Paul, MN. Disruption is something that all communities face at some point in their trajectories, and this toolkit clearly lays out how the arts can help help turn a ubiquitous challenge into positive outcomes.
