January 17, 2017

By: ArtPlace America

WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT $9.5 MILLION IS AVAILABLE TO FUND PROJECTS THAT WORK WITH ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS TO BUILD STRONGER, HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

Submit your application by February 22, 2017 3:59PM EST

To be able to apply you must register in Fluxx before February 14, 2017, 3:59pm EST

If you already registered in Fluxx last year, you can use the same username and password. If you haven’t yet signed up for Fluxx, follow the instructions in the FAQ under the Technology heading. If you lost or forgot your password, please go to artplaceamerica.fluxx.io and click 'Reset or create password

We expect many people to apply – last year, we received close to 1400 applications – so the competition will be stiff.  Recognizing that, we created a simple and focused application that consists of 4 narrative questions, some basic identifying information, and two attachments (a 3-minute video, and a map).

If you are thinking about a project that:

  • Focuses on a neighborhood, town, village or other geographic community
  • Is looking to work on a community challenge or opportunity related to agriculture/food; economic development; education/youth; environment/energy; health; housing, immigration; public safety; transportation; or workforce development
  • Has a way that artists, arts organizations, and/or arts and culture activities can help address that challenge or opportunity
  • Will have a way of knowing whether the project has made progress on the challenge

then you should think about submitting an application.

Here is a quick video that explains everything you need to know:

If you prefer reading the information, there is a document that presents the same information here.

And if you are interested in seeing what we have funded in the past, you may search all of our 256 grantees’ projects here.

We have funded in communities of every size, from a 400 people to a community with 8.3 million people. In fact, 24% of ArtPlace’s funding has gone to communities with fewer than 50,000 people.

Please note: The National Creative Placemaking Fund (or NCPF) is not the same program as our Community Development Investments, which is our other national grant program.

We are really excited to learn about all of the great work that is happening around the country and cannot wait to see the new ideas that will come in this year!
