A series of short documentaries chronicling four of the grantees around the country were commissioned: Urban Bush Women in Brooklyn, NY; The Nickelodeon Theater in Columbia, SC; the Montana Arts Council; and Los Cenzontles in San Pablo, CA. The first and last videos in this six-part series explore the vision and premises of this groundbreaking project in cultural philanthropy.

Wellbeing Microgrants

Wellbeing Microgrants are a new approach to engage and support Santa Monica residents looking to make a positive change in their community. Designed to empower residents, the City provides up to $500 for ideas that are focused on small scale action to improve community wellbeing. This initiative is a key component of the first phase of the Pico Wellbeing Project.

PROGRAMS SUPPORTING ART IN THE PUBLIC REALM
A challenge for artists and funders in this intersectional work is to advance both aesthetic and community aims. How do programs balance community development needs and goals with opportunities for artists to experiment? Americans for the Arts and the Barr Foundation share the findings of a National Scan of Programs Supporting Art in the Public Realm. The scan highlights overarching themes and offers snapshots of 30 programs supporting and building capacity for artists to work in the public realm.

NATIONAL CONSORTIUM FOR CREATIVE PLACEMAKING
NCCP's spectrum of learning opportunities for individuals includes webinars, workshops, Leadership Summits, a Certificate in Creative Placemaking. Our place-based educational offerings are one-day Strategy Labs and 6-9-month Community Coaching. Some training is free, some fee based. The on-site portions of the Certificate are held in Manchester and northern New Jersey and workshops are held in Orange, NJ and Philadelphia. Webinars are also available.

A search tool to explore  thousands of profiles of institutional and individual funders and browse various guides which organize funders by industry, issue, and geographic place. The guides are written by in-house staff and updated constantly to reflect changes in funders and trends. They also work to get inside foundations—and into the heads of top individual donors—to explain who is funding what and why, what’s new, and how to make the right pitch.
