Spaceworks is a nonprofit organization committed to providing long-term affordable workspace for artists throughout New York City. The organization builds and strengthens lasting connections between artists and communities, inviting artists to contribute to neighborhood vitality and become proactive partners in the long-term stability and vibrancy of neighborhoods. Spaceworks is currently operating three successful projects in Brooklyn and Queens, and has a pipeline of prospective projects from the Bronx to Staten Island. At each site, Spaceworks collaborates with community-based cultural program partners who offer free programming to local residents, fostering neighborhood connections. Spaceworks' inaugural projects will add approximately 30,000 SF of artist workspace, comprising of nearly 50 visual art studios, 8 performing art rehearsal spaces and 4 co-working spaces for cultural organizations in neighborhoods across three NYC boroughs.
