York, AL (population 2,500) is home to the Coleman Center for the Arts, an artist-led nonprofit that has proposed Pop Start, a new project in partnership with the University of West Alabama's James Suttles Entrepreneurship Institute that is a creative social laboratory and would provide space for economic experimentation in this rural community.
