Update
It’s been a busy summer for Blue Ox Mini Golf. Founders, Christi, Chris, and Jennifer traveled to different places to see and experience mini golf and playable art including the Giant Maze at the National Building Museum in Washingon, DC, City Museum in St. Louis, MO, and Vitense Golfland in Madison, WI. In addition, the founders have been playing mini golf courses around the Twin Cities metro to really identify what makes a hole “playable” and fun so that we can include this information in our call for artists.

Challenges
Blue Ox Mini Golf is working on designing and implementing an organizational culture that fits our values and accounts for mission while also making a profit so that Blue Ox can be an economic engine for the arts.

Recent Wins
1. We have partnered with First Tee of Minneapolis, a program of Minneapolis Parks and Recreation. This is a wonderful partnership as they consider mini golf to be a gateway to golf, and their goal is to get more kids into golf. In exchange, they are supplying us with putters at a discounted price.

2. We have agreed on the footprint and location for our business within a new building, and we are currently working out the details of a lease.

Insight/Provocation
All of us have become more self-aware through the process of building this small business. Creating an infrastructure that is thoughtfully designed may not be the most creatively exciting thing we've worked on, but we are humbled by its importance.
