Jeremy Nowak named interim Director of ArtPlace
Jeremy Nowak has been named interim Director of ArtPlace. Jeremy will take over the directorship on May 6th. ArtPlace is a collaboration of leading national and regional foundations, banks and federal agencies committed to accelerating creative placemaking – putting art at the heart of a portfolio of strategies designed to revitalize communities.
Jeremy is a Non Resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution as well as a Non Resident Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Urban Research. He currently serves as the chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s board of directors. He was President of the William Penn Foundation from 2011-2012 and the CEO of The Reinvestment Fund (TRF) in Philadelphia, which he co-founded in 1985. Under his leadership TRF invested more than $1 billion into disadvantaged communities. Among his publications is Creativity and Neighborhood Development, a monograph that integrates art and cultural practices within a community development framework.
Jeremy will provide strong and experienced leadership during this time of transition for ArtPlace. The search for a permanent director is ongoing.
